Not as funny as being denied for a SP CLI for "too many recent inquiries" on my TU report.

1 TU INQ in March.

6 TU INQs in January... due to car shopping.

3 TU INQs in December... new CC's.

Prior to that... last INQ in 2013.

Can someone define "recent"?

Inquiries stay on your report for 25 months, and I believe anything over 5 is considered "too many."  Hope this helps.

Cool... but I was asking about "recent."

I don't consider 8 and 9 months ago "recent."  1-6 months?  Sure.

That being said, I just have the 1 inquiry from March.  How is 1 too many?  Smiley Happy

Re: You have to laugh

Capital One recently mentioned too many inquiries "in the past 12 months," for what that's worth. While that's not exactly "recent," I don't think most lenders look for longer than that.

Oh, yes.  Im my experience, most creditors look through the past year for recent inquiries.  So next february/march you will only show the 1 recent inquiry as opposed to 7.
