You can file with the BBB but the FTC has more pull as far as being a CA goes. Plus you want their name entered into the bad boy list with the FTC.

And with these bottom feeder types a complaint to the BBB won't do any good. They aren't accredited and don't care. But the FTC and your state AG would care.

I would send the FTC a formal complaint under FDCPA 809(a) of their failure to have send dunning notice within 5 days of their inititial communication with you, and for an unnfair debt collection practice under FDCPA 808(1) for attempting to collect an amount not authorized by law.
I would also send them a DV under FDCPA 809(b), thus precluding any additional calls or collection activity until such time as they provide the requested debt validation.
