I have to accounts that are 10+ years old. I just recieved a letter from a small collection agency stating they will attempt to levy my accounts and garnish my wages to get payment or issue a judgement.
both are under $500.
Can they do this? what should my response be if any?

Depends on what state you are in that they can take you to court. Now, with that being said there is a reasoning to that. I know that in California they can't take you to court if it is past the SOL, not sure about the other states. But, should they, you must appear in court. You would use the SOL as your defense. You could contact them with this information if you so choose.
