any advice on how to get rid of this?

This was my first credit card, secured

I was young and irresponsible and let it default. They used my deposit to pay my balance and closed my account. I tried a GW to the EO and they aren't having it. I will keep trying but want to know if there are other options? Also, can someone tell me when this would fall off since DoFD is n/a? Thanks!

DoFD should be 2 months after date of last payment and it would then remain on file for 7 to 7.5 yrs years from that point so I calculate either 09/2017 the 7 year point or 03/.2018 the 7.5 year point. All  you can do is continue GW letters until you get the desired result. Good luck Smiley Happy

FYI:  According to the law, the deletion date is 7 yrs + 180 days after acct went delinquent (DOFD).  That being said, you can start disputing at 6.5 yrs and often the CRAs will delete early.  Once you hit DOFD +7 yrs, disputing as obsolete (if it is even still there) will get it deleted.

Credit report exclusion applies to any adverse items reported under the account.

The post does not provide the details of the derogs that were reported once the account became delinquent.

Each monthly delinquency would have its own exclusion date after 7 years from its date of occurence.

They apparently never reported a charge-off or collection since it is stated that the deposit was used to pay the balance.

Thus, the DOFD was not required to have been reported, as it would be irrelevant.

That makes sense. The last one I see is a 60 day late in July 2010. Then at that point it was paid and closed.
