I just got off with the phone with a CA who I owe $750 for some services in 2011.
She also said "you have some accounts from 2008, but those accounts are purged, so I wouldn't even worry about them."
I asked her "does that mean it wont randomly pop up on my credit report if it hasn't by now?" and she said "I wouldn't worry about it to be honest. We can't even sell the debt, because it's purged."
I didn't want to pursue the issue further.... but is that statement true? Does a "purged" account really mean they can't collect or will not report in the future, even if I make the payment for the 2011 bill?
