charged off accts

If an account is charged off can the OC or CA still file a judgement against you, and also could either add interest to the debt or request more? Thank you

Yes, they can sue.  Especially after a CO.  Yes they can add interest and if they win attorney fees.

Re: charged off accts

Actions, and their reporting to a CRA, can each be separately and cumulatively reported.

First, monthly delinquencies on the OC account.

Then, a charge off by the OC.

Then, a CA if the OC has refereed the debt for collection, with or without a prior CA.

Then, legal action, with posible court judgment, regardless of, and addition to, any prior credit reprting of any kind.

What can be added in the way of additional debt and charges by a CA is governed by state laws.  It varies.
