I am paying a collection account for a chase Card and the balance now is $800 and I'm paying $100 per month on time each month. Is there anyway to have this CO removed from my credit report? I'm sure it's holding my scores down.
Once its paid you would need to send Chase GW letters to ask that it be removed, the Collection agency would also need a GW letter if they are reporting the collection unless you already did a PFD arrangement for their entry.
Does the OC still own the debt?
If so, your payments are going to them, and thus they are recouping their loss.
If not, they sold the debt at a loss, and arent recouping anything from your repayment.
Those who have taken a loss in dealing with you are often not full of good will.
Please do let us know if you are able to get Chase to do a removal for you. I have had zero luck with them. Just over two years ago I had to do a settlement with them. I've sent GW letters, and always get a call back from a very nice person at the EO, however they pretty much tell me the world will come to an end before they will do any type of removal or how the account is reporting. With that said, if I am not mistaken there are reports out there of people having success, so anything is possible.
