closed account

How does it work with closed account on credit report . Pays as agreed.  I have one showing date opened 12/ 2006. Date of last payment 12/2010 date closed 12/2010. Then it says items as of date reported 8/18/2014.   So my question is when will this come off my credit report

Re: closed account

The FCRA regulates when adverse items of information reported to a CRA must become excluded from credit reports issued by a CRA.

That includes monthly delinquencies, charge-offs, collections, etc.

Exclusion is 7 years from date of a monthly delinquency, and 7 years from DOFD for a collection or charge-off.

The FCRA does not regulate the deletion of accounts by a CRA.  The CRAs have internal housecleaning prodecures under which they will delete accounts that have been closed for approx ten years.  However, they could delete earlier or later, as the period is not regulated.
