cofused about DOFD

please help confused to when you use dofd I have an acct that is dated back to 2002 can i use that to have it removed my first deliquincy was march of 2002 or what date would i use thank you

DOFD is not the first date you were ever late on the account.

 

It is the date you went delinquent and never caught up prior to to charge off/collection/other similar action.

ok thanks for clearing that up I made this acct current and paid it off before it was supposed to be paid off. what date do i go by to see when it should fall off? it has 30/60 lates on it

It might be removed 7 years from date it was closed, since it was a negative account.

 

However, the lates will fall off one by one as they reach 7 years, and the account could end up being a positive account, which will report for 10 years from date closed.

 

When were the lates? When was it closed?
