collection account

I'm in the middle of getting a mortgage, on March 1 a collection agency made an inquiry on my husband's credit report, they called me on March 9 for payment, I paid it hoping it wouldn't be reported to the CRA. I just checked his credit again and it still hasn't been reported a month later. It was a medical bill from 2008 for $120. Do you think because I paid it the first time they called and it was a little amount that they wont report it to the CRA? We are almost in final underwritng and a new collection on his credit would be horrible.

Re: collection account

Debt collectors, knowing that in this day and age, consumers pull their own credit reports, use credit reporting primarily as a means to collect on a debt.

Having paid the debt, that business need is gone on their part.

No assurance they wont still report, but I would suspect they have moved on to other, bigger fish.
