so my husband has a medical collection from a few years ago on his credit report for a little over a thousand bucks. I have tried everything to get this removed but the CRA will not budge. i recently sent a DV letter by certified mail to them so we shall see what that brings about. what do you do if the CRA will not take a PFD? i have the money to pay it off but i want it taken off my credit and i don't think they are going to budge... what next?
Do they own it or does the OC?
I don't know! how can i find that out?
Some where on the report it will say sold/transferred to another lender or something to that effect.
nope it doesn't say anything like that.

The CRA only reports things, they do not take payments for items on your CR.
This debt appears to be owned by the OC. Contact them and ask for a PFD.
Also, a DV goes to a 3rd party collection agency, not the CRA or an OC.
well i just called the OC and unfortunately they did sell this account to the CA so i guess i have to some how convince them to remove it... figures!
