composing settlement offer email to Midland, advice?

The DOFD for the HSBC account they are collecting was 12-2006, its outside the SOL in Iowa

Is there anything I need to avoid stating in my email?  I fully admit the debt is mine, because frankly, it is.  Before I pull the trigger and hit send, I just wanted to ask if anything I need to be careful of even when its time-barred.

Thanks!

From what I've learned on the forums, you should never admit or accept the debt.  Maybe you should run your email by a moderator before you hit send.

I just heard back from Midland in regards to two letters I sent requesting debt verification, and they have stated they can't verify and will be deleting the accounts. Perhaps you should request validation before offering a settlement.

Re: composing settlement offer email to Midland, advice?

Thanks guys, I didnt send anything and did more board research, and also read I shouldnt do that.

I have never received (that I recall....i did move about the time Midland took over the account) anything and 2 of my reports show it closed but with a balance. I dont get that.

So say hypothetically I DV and the same happens....is it gone gone or just off my report. Again, im trying to avoid mortgage time skeletons coming out of closet

If they remove it, it's gone.  If it is excluded from a simple pull of your CR due to the fact that it has exceeded the CRTP, then it is still a valid debt.
