credit union question

I am confused.  Do all credit unions pull a CR to open an account?  Just curious cause I am looking to change from a traditional bank to a CU for the better interest rates (on savings and cd's) not on credit cards or loans (although i know loan rates can be lower too)

I cannot speak for ALL CU's

But, all that I have been affiliated with have pulled CR's.

The ones I have used did not pull a CR.  But they are military affiliated.

I've used 2 and they both hard pulled to open the account.

I am looking at PenFed.

I joined a credit union yesterday after reaching the end of my rope with big banking. No hard pull to open the account. Even so, I'd be ok because I am so desperate to ditch PNC and there are numerous other advantages.
