FCRA 609 defines various types of information and the conditions and procedures under which a consumer can obtain that information.
It is not per se a dispute provision. Some provisions require payment of a fee, while others do not. It depends upon the type of information.....
Disputes are covered under FCRA 611 (if done via a CRA) and FCRA 623(a)(8) (if done directly to the furnisher of the information).
Either type of dispute is mandated under the FCRA to be free of charge......
