quick question, I am new to this board... I was hit horribly hard by the economy in 2008 lost everything house etc. I am just now getting back on my feet. My CR shows a few charge offs that will age off in 2014. However one I am confused about. It shows dofd as 10/07 but the CA reports as aging off in 12/2015. I was under the impression that you ad 6 months then 7years and that gives you the age off date. Is this correct or is my impression off? I thought age off date was 2/2014 If age off date is off how to I get the CA to change date? Ive never received a letter or call until I updated my phone number yesterday on my CR. Thoughts?

Re: dofd

If the DOFD is certainly 10/07, than you have an age-off around 04/2015 which is 7.5 years if I am not mistaken...my math IS horrible lol but that's what I've come up with. The 12/15 thing could just be an estimation, but you can dispute it in 04/2015 and get a deletion if the DOFD is precisely 10/07.

Re: dofd

Thanks, I recevied a credit alert today after never having heard a word from this CA until yesterday. Today they raised the balance on the account. It is already past the SOL in CA so not sure of the purpose.  Just to damage my score?
