is GW letter should be handwritten or typed?

I'am trying to make a GW to Chase and I am not sure if handwriting it would mean more sincerity on my request?

DOFD
Chase - Nov 03
account was charged-off

am I right Nov 2010 is when it will fall off my CR, counting from DOFD (learned from the forum)?

what if they'll not do anything and just rather update the file isn't that gonna hurt my score again?
Should I continue writing or just wait for my 7yrs?

Type letter and do not sign it.  For the sincerity of the letter that should be felt in the composition of the body.  With the right words you'll convey sincerity and also have a professional looking document.

Good luck and never give up.

I sign my goodwill letters.

I don't sign disputes, because CA's have been known to scan a signature and use it to forge a document "proving" that you have agreed to pay the bill.

But if you are sending a GW, you aren't disputing, you are asking them to do you a favor and remove negative info about an account that you have already paid. No problem with a signature for those!

Re: is GW letter should be handwritten or typed?

Has anyone actually ever seen or been presented with such a forged document? Has anyone ever demanded that a court authenticate the document, not just the signature?

Forgery is a criminal offense.

I've heard tell of them

But, btw, Chase is the OC, not a CA.  Feel free to sign something you're sending to the OC.  I think sometimes handwritten is more effective, since it's clearly not a cut-n-pasted letter, and it shows that you took the time do do more than hit "print".

That only applies to a DV going to a CA.  You can handwrite and sign anything going to the OC.

Yep, it is.  That is why many CAs are banned from collecting in states, lose their licenses never to be reinstated, etc.
