Re: jack attack

I do know what the premise is on a so called "jack attack".  However it does not work.   A DV or even a cease and desist does not exclude the creditors from verifying a debt.  Sorry.

Re: jack attack

Thanks for the response shogun,  I kept seeing jack attack pop up in threads so I thought this was a normal procedure After DV to s dispute with CRA's and if come back verified to PFD?

Re: jack attack

I would leave out the dispute, if they agreed to the PFD, the dispute would just prolong the reporting.

Re: jack attack

+1

The DV and dispute processes are under different statutes, and for entirely different purposes.

Regardless of whether you have requested debt validation from the debt collector, which is unrelated to credit reporting, if they have also reported to your credit file, and you have basis for asserting that reporting is inaccurate, you can dispute its accuracy under the FCRA.

Nothing occuring under the DV process is a basis for an FCRA dispute.  You must provide sufficient documentation in any dispute so as to enable the furnisher to conduct a reasonable investigation of the asserted inaccuracy.

If you simply "dispute" without meeting the burden of identification of a specific inaccuracy, it can be dismissed without investigation as "frivolous or irrelevant."
