keeping cc's down and watching scores go up

I think we started the credit rebuilding journey officially last year in July when we decided to get open secure credit cards with USAA. I started with $2350 and and Hubby $2500. Since September 2013 DH EX score went up 104 points (EX FAKO 691, MyFico EQ 666) and mine, not sure but should be about the same. I just looked at his today. I have been working on both of our credit reports though at the same time. MyFico shows my EX at 680 as of Saturday. That's up from 657 (lender pull) in March.

The only baddies left on mine is a $110 collection that I paid tonight and 2013 short sale. DH has 4 very small collections on his EQ report from 2012 but will be paid by the time we put in the mortgage app in July, a $1800 judgement that we just paid last week, and 2013 short sale.

Now, we are just maintaining to keep utilization down on secure cards and watching our scores continue to increase. I truly in all honesty owe it all to you guys whom I have never met but made me feel that we are not out here alone. Thank You to all of you.

Myfico: 03/26/2015: EQ 652, EX 680, TU 738 Barclays

Barclays $4.7K, NFCU Platinum $15K, AMEX BCE $15k, HD $12k, Sams $3.5k, Walmart MC $3.5K, NFCU LOC 10K, GE local Furn store $3.5k, AMEX ED $10.5K

Congrats on your success WTG

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
