i have a meerick bank ding on my transunion that was 7 years from DOFD in may. it has come off the other CRA'S and im wondering how long till it absolutely has to come off, or if it will come off automatically,or if i should dispute it with transunion?
If it was a 30day late in May 2004, then yes it should've already came off automatically.I would contact TU and say " Hey, Please explain this, it's over 7yrs."
Is this from a CR that came directly from TU or from somewhere else?
Sometimes I've noticed CR's dont all report in the same way.
I would only trust the ones you get, directly from the CRA's
Strictly speaking the rule is "7 years plus six months from Date of First Delinquency". If you dispute it it "might" come off, be sure you can prove the DOFD so it doesn't re-age if they come back and say it is confirmed.
The 7yr plus 6mos from the DoFD rule is for CA's,time it takes to drop off a CR.
OC is 7yrs from the DoFD.

That is how I always understood the timeframe to be as well.
