I am writing to see if you would be willing to make a goodwill adjustment on your reporting to the credit agencies, regarding my account xxxxxxxxxx.
About a year ago, I missed couple of payments on this account in September of 2013. I was in the middle of a job change and my husband had just lost his job. Money was tight and I was simply not able to make the payment in a timely manner. However, since then, I have paid off my account in full without settlement and our financial situation has now stabilized so that I will be able to continue to make payments on time going forward. My family is going to begin to shop for mortgages soon, and having this negative report on my account will surely have a negative impact on this process.
Because this incident was just once in the few years that I have had an account with you, I am respectfully requesting that you adjust or remove my account off credit reports. This incident occurred some time ago and I do not feel like it reflects my current creditworthiness, as I have worked hard since then to keep all of my accounts in good standing.
