new possible judgement. help!

over the weekend my wife was served a summons for a debt from a couple of years ago, that we did not know existed.  We have moved a few times.  I called the attorney and set up arrangements to pay in full.

Is there anything we can do to keep this from being reported on her credit report as a judgement?  currently I do not think it is being reported at all.

Suggestions?  Anything we need to do?

Even if you've set up payments you still need to formally answer the summons and appear in court on the court date. If you don't, the judge will approve a default judgement if the creditor requests it.
