If they haven't reported it yet try a Pay For Not Reporting, if they have reported try the Pay For Deletion, if they won't agree to a Pay for not Reporting or Pay For Deletion call Verizon and ask if they can retract the collection from the CA and in exchange pay the bill in full that day.
