maybe this is simple or not. heres the scenario, i want to hit 700 in 6 mos on eq if thats even possible. i just pulled my eq score from here its 646 with 7 inquiries and 37% util and one last baddie due to fall of may 2013. 2 mos ago i pulled eq and score was 668 with 9% util. im guessing the last baddie is having almost no effect. 6 mos from now will be nov and thats when all the inquiries will hit one year which they wont count against my score. in nov ill have 2 secured cards that are eligible for unsecuring so basically i would like to have a 700 score. so with the inquiries not counting against me anymore in nov and if i let a 1-5% util report is 700 possible?
What is the derog?
a utility bill from an electric company for the amount of 196.00
If your EQ FICO reports shows util as the #1 neg, or even #2, then I bet you'll hit very close or right at 700 by getting your util in check. Pay all CCs to $0 except one and get that one under 9% of the CL. Revolving util is a very big scoring component.
Did you open any new accounts in Nov. (since the last were from Nov.)? New accounts can hurt and I bet you'll see an additional gain as they age to a year, if that's the case. Just don't app for anything before then.
And I'd do a PFD on the baddie.
nov is when ill hit one year with 3 accounts and it will be 6 mos with the new cc i got from nfcu. i would love to do a pfd with that baddie but several family members of mine and members on this forum had no luck with pfd's and i dont want to wake a dragon with an attempt. i can wait a year for it to fall off
I think going from 37 to 7% util will give you 15 points. At least 10.
