rebuilding credit card advise

Hello all,

Hope someone can help me.

Quick back ground.

2009 wife and I both lost our jobs, have 2 unpaid collections from then first premier bank credit cards
Repo for 10k Santander in Feb 2010

All of which are still unpaid, we have 4 kids.

Since then paid auto for $5k took out in march 2010 paid off early Nov 2011 24 month loan

June of 2011 took out 4 year car loan from regional acceptance

Feb 2013 new auto loan credit acceptance

August 2013 traded regional loan for new 2013 Malibu through ally

I have 42 months with no later on any of my autos.

I'm looking for advice to get a new low credit limit unsecured credit card.

Do I call or go online?

Am I better off asking for a manual review and pleaded my case as I did with ally auto?

I have been turned down for cap one cc one line.

I have a lot of inquires as well.

We are looking to purchase a house in the next 18-24 months.

Please help

I need a new TL to start a good credit mixture

Thanks

How many inq's is a lot?
Is the auto loan the only item on your cr?
Can you do a PFD?
How much are the collections?

maybe Milestone gold mastercard might be good. They advertise $300 limit with about 24% APR and they have a PreQual link with no HP. and If your old First Premier Account is paid you could try their PreQual App. or maybe Credit One.

OP was denied Cap1 CC.

I suggest a local CU for a Secured CC to start with. One for the OP and one for their Wife.

You need to see what you can do about the derogs that are weighing you down.  Payment History is 35%/  Type of Credit is only 10%.
