The company was Enhanced Recovery
ATT has never reported this debt, so i fully expect to see this come full circle and report again...I called ATT a year ago to see if there was an outstanding balance and was told that it was sent to collections
It may very well be gone and sold, but it's worth exploring to see if you can get it stopped with AT&T. If of course you have the spare $900. Yikes.

Just keep an eye on your soft pulls and dunning notifications..
I would wait until you get a dunning, then just pay it then, before it reports.. that's just how I would handle it

will do......On another note... I received an email this morning from the BBB stating that Asset Acceptance would be removing their negative....the OC and the CA are reporting the same debt except the CA is reporting late payments every month.......disputed the account, got no response and complained to Better Business Bureau.........it will now disappear..........I am currently 2 for 2 thank to the info and advice received on these boards.....
SO THANKFUL...
I find a couple of these replies....EXTREMELY RUDE. We are here to HELP and provide assistance. SHEESH!
OP: I had AT&T hit me with a COLLECTION for equipment, which I returned, via their own label with UPS. Do NOT offer them a plug nickel YET. Who is the CA?

In the future I'd recommend never returning equipment this way. Return it to a retail store and have them revert your contract to however it was prior to the equipment being purchased. Ensure that this is done at the store level, and yes, they can do it.

If it's ENHANCED RECOVERY, then EOS has probably sold it off to them. I believe that AT&T uses EOS, if they cannot collect, it goes to ENHANCED. They are KNOWN to not remove anything from the bureaus. IF you don't pay it in full, they will report as a collection, settled for less.
This is just something I've experienced. If Enhanced is reporting, EOS should delete. You CAN....wait it out...see if Enhanced sells the debt down the line. Enhanced should delete their collection and you can settle with the next ca without it hitting the bureau. I'd go ahead and DV Enhanced...see what they have.
YMMV.
Yep Jutz......you live and learn. thanks for the helpful advice. Someone will learn from my mistake. It's all a learning process, right?
Enhanced recovery is the only instance of this debt on my report.....and I believe this stems from the equipment which i did return! i will continue to moniter my report and pay it if i have too...
