reporting as adverse on Transunion? Why?

I have a Credit Card from my local Credit Union. It is listed on my Transunion report as adverse. It hasn't had a late since 2008 (3 30Day lates 07/2008, 04/2008, 11/2006). It also hasn't had a balance since 08/2010. The report says high balance of $530 from 08/2010 to 01/2013. Credit limit $500. Actually they owe we $30.00. I over payed years ago $30.00 so the statement says $0.00 due, balance ($30.00). Its reporting as OK in the rating for the last 3 years. I don't understand. Please help.. Thanks Tommy

Re: reporting as adverse on Transunion? Why?

Since it hasn't had a balance has it reported each month?  I'm thinking the existence of the lates and possibility it hasn't reported history for a while are reasons for saying it's "potentially negative".  That doesn't mean a big hit.

Why don't you spend $35.00 this month, let it report, and then pay it off?

As long as there are lates, from anytime,  it will be an adverse account.  Have you ever been over your CL?  That is what the high balance refers to, the highest balance you ever carried on your card.  It is not hurting your score.

I agree, 30 day lates are minor derogs, but since they're still listed it is showing as an adverse account.  Those lates have lost their sting however.

Re: reporting as adverse on Transunion? Why?

It has been reporting every month. Now that its explained it makes sense. Does anyone see any reason I should try and have those old 30 days GWed off? Or should I just leave them alone since they aren't effecting me anymore. Thanks

No reason at all not to send a GW.  You could gain a few points if they get removed.  Make sure you let them know you are NOT DISPUTING just asking for a GW deletion.
