so i guess its true

after 7 years a collection i had with the Ca State of trans. doesnt appear on ne of my credit repots Smiley Happy

A sigh of relief!

 

I've been wondering this myself; they say "generally negative accounts remain on your report for 7 years from report date" - and I'm talking about late payments and accounts not paid as agreed, not bankruptcies, ect...

 

I have 5 "negatives", but they are late payments.

 

03/2006

06/2008

07/2008

09/2009

03/2012


For my 03/2012 late payments, it says: "Status Details:  By Oct 2017, this account is scheduled to go to a positive status." Sounds good!

 

Presumably, by April 2014 I will have 3 "negatives". This date is important, because its my "realistic" goal of when I will purchase my first home. I wonder how much positively this could affect me?
