Re: state tax lien

A paid tax lien can stay on your credit report for seven years from the date of payment/release. If the CRA is not reporting the lien as released you can send them a copy of the release with your dispute. As long as the release is on file in your local recorders office they will verify the release and change the status on your report. If the lien was filed in error you should contact the state and have them withdraw the original lien.
