Re: total amount in collections

The amoumt is not a FICO scoring issue, but it can be a major impact issue upon manual review of the credit report.

Prospective lendors will most likely take the total delinquent indebetness into consideration.

Re: total amount in collections

^what the pros said^

thats why you always read about a PIF collection scores same as a 567654 dollar collection. the current fico algorithm just reads the account type/status and ignores the dollar amount (except for the newer TU i think it is, but i cant speak intelligently on that as i know zilch about it). PIF/settled/1.00 owed/ 100k owed...they all take the same score ding. but yeah, of course, when a live person is actually looking at your CR, theyd much rather see a paid CA acct vs one you ignored.
