So I am trying to get an old collection removed from my CR.  I pulled my Equifax score from myFico and it says that "100YC00463" was hired to collect the debt originally

owned by Wells Fargo.  How do I find out who the "100YC00463" collection agency is?, or can I contact Wells Fargo and do a possible PFD with them?

wells fargo should be able to tell you what the actual name of the CA and the contact number.

based from my experience in the past with some financial institutions, i've been told that i have to talk to the CA to get the debt settled.

Also, some 3rd party report providers, like myFICO, will mask the CA's name. This is usually done for medical debts, but I had it happen once for a CA collecting on behalf of Sprint. Calling works. If not that, then pull your report directly from the CRA and you'll see that info (try annualcreditreport.com first).
