I checked creditkarma and found this:
I did not open a credit card in so long I cannot even remember. I tried googling CB/CMPNYST and found nothing.
Creditor Name: CB/CMPNYST
Opened: November 2009
Credit Limit: $500*
Reported Balance: $0*
Newyork state lein?
Central Maine Power?
Just guessing here..
I would suggest getting it settled, as having an open line of credit out there that you do not recall authorizing could lead to problems.
Having stated a credit limit, it is apparently being reported as a revolving line of credit, and is thus unlikely to be related to a lien, utility account, or tax obligation.
I would contact the CRA and get the contact phone or mailing address they provided upon reporting, and give the OC a call.
As for scoring impact, it might be positive or negative. Showing as an open account with 0% util is positive, and also adds to the number of revolving accounts in your scoring of % cards with balances. However, if its age of 11/2009 is younger than your current avg age of accounts, it would be hurting your length of credit scoring.
Regardless, scoring impact would not be my primary concern. My concern would be possible use of this account.
I am in NY but how can it be a lein based on the credit max listed / the fact that it seems to be a credit card. How can I check for leins on my property?
Cannot be Central Maine Power as I don't live there.
I see it on creditkarma so no place to call...I need to know what the initials mean.
either pull your report from TU to view details or purchase your report from here. CK wont give you much to go on.
Doesn't give an address? Phone #? I'm as baffled as you are.
On Credit Kasrma that type of info is not listed.
They reported to the CRA, who must therfore have contact info.
Where is the best place to buy, for the least $, all three scores? If I were to buy just one score with report (I rec'd my 3 free reports this year and that creditor wasnt listed then), which one should I go for?
