If there's no place to live and they're flat broke when the baby comes.... what then?

I get that she's pregnant but this spending issue doesn't seem new.

Sad.

But true.

I do not see this ending well for anyone but their divorce lawyer.

Re: Am I in the Wrong Here?

Hello. I was lucky enough to go to a conflict management training this past week. When we are in conflict with someone, it takes up 95% of our energy - this is clearly evidenced by the time and energy you put into the conversation post.

We are in conflict when there is a perceived (or true) feeling of lack of resources. (Ie. Money).

As everyone has said here, it's not the haircut, it's the relationship and communication that is a problem.

I'm fine with giving each other weekly allotments to spend, we do that in our house. And if 500 is what her budget is, then she has to make do with it. We all either live within our budget or go into debt.

Good luck to you both. Hopefully you two can work on this before the baby comes so little one doesn't have to grow up in an atmosphere of negative energy.

And I do realize this post is pretty old.

According to me, you are wrong, if you really think that pragnency changes her way of thinking about finance than you are wrong.
