how do you get this credit repair party started? All reports...and all info revealed ...be it illness , divorce, unemployment or all three
Would it be fair? Certainly.
Is it possible or practical in most situations? Probably not, unless all parties involved are willing to wait.
Thankfully, each persons credit is their own unless they have applied for joint credit with someone. That’s when things get sticky, and the actions of an ex-spouse with whom you have joint credit can often emotionally effect a new spouse, via You.
But I might digress...
Was your question based on a specific circumstance you wish to discuss on the forum, or just a philosophical rumination?
It depends on what types of debts you have. Did you already buy a ring? Are you going to have a large wedding?
IMHO no. Better to have a plan and be working it.

If your parents gave you $20,000, would you spend it on a fancy wedding that all but the photo album have forgotten by the following morning or a house down payment towards your home beginning the rest of your life? If the latter, taking care of any credit card debt beforehand will help you tremendously towards a lower mortgage rate, which in return will allow for a wedding party in that home, a celebration that people will remember joyously every time they come to visit you!
