Hey all.
Wanna know how I was able to save $700 without even trying? Well, last Christmas, I bought my husband one of those coin jars at Macys. It automatically counts the money for you so you can watch it add up. Every day, when I'd clean out my purse or wash his clothes, we'd empty the change and deposit it in the jar. It became a habit. A very good, good, habit. Now it's not even quite December, and we have $700 without even trying. We agreed to put all our change into that ONE jar for the year. Try it, you'll be amazed how much you can save.
I'm curious. How do you save money? What are some of the easy ways (if there is such a thing) that you trick yourself into saving and not spending?
All the best to everyone!
Opps. That first line should say $700, not $300!

Thanks! You are always so nice.
That's awesome Miss! Looks like you actually got the present
My husband and I each have a "jar" (mines actually a pink piggy and his is a Mason jar)...we like to compete with how much each of us can save. He thinks I cheat because I put anything less than a $5 in my pig LOL
(I always win)
Way to go!
We can take our loose change to the bank every few weeks. Goes into a special account, then gets added to a CD (we have one that is specifically for loose change).
Congratulations on your savings!

I have been doing that for the past couple of years and I have about half of a 5 gallon water tank filled.
I also save the dollar coins and I have about $3000 worth from about 3 years.
My uncle used to save his change in a large barrel. Unfortunately, the weight caused it to fall partway through the floor, and the change went to repairing the hole.
