Apart from that Microsoft thingy on your thread (which I deeply appologize for), my comment about Audis actually makes sense. First of all, I didnt invent that line; every car enthusiast thinks that way about Audis (because Audis are considered the most reliable luxury cars ever, yet they dont offer the same features). BTW: Did you notice that I actually like Hondas (yet another brand for lower class people, right?), in fact I have one in my Garage (not mine, though) , its been there for some time now as the dealership wont accept warranty (a choked PCV valve is not my problem, is it?). If I were of some royalty, I would have just paid for those repairs myself Smiley Happy

I guess I need to make atleast one more thing clear, Microsoft charges the most fees, and it just cant be for "lower class"people, trust me. We pay MS over $80k  every 3 months for their database services + licensing royalty because there is no other choice out there. (yes, I hate their monopoly, and not the demographice they cater to).

Dont think for a sec that I'm being rude, I'm just trying to clear the air with you Smiley Happy

PS: Worst thing about internet is that when a person posts something in a forum, they just cant communicate their emotions i.e I was just trying to have a fun time, but you though I was being rude, right? Smiley Happy

Re: 2012 Mercedes-benz CLS...

Well I don't understand the hammer thing. It scares me since I just did

the microsoft essentials download (it's free btw)

I drive a lowly camry and my sister loves her Sonata.

We are definitely not in your class.

PS I did like "57 MG convertible which would not go

in reverse and if you drove "in" you had to be picked up

manually and turned around.

Re: 2012 Mercedes-benz CLS...

I drive a Honda. When I recommend a car for someone the list starts with Honda & Toyota followed by Nissan & Mazda. I'm trying to ignore the current styling crap from Toyota.

I've worked in the automotive industry for 38 years. I've worked as a dealer rep (warranty issues), repair shop owner, auto parts manufacturer & supplier. I have friends and former employees that work for most of the car manufacturers including Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes, Porsche. I've never been involved with any US or Japanese auto manufacturer except buying their products. As a serious car enthusiast I have owned more than 50 cars and frequently 10 at a time. The only cars I've ever bought new were Honda, Lexus, Lotus, Jaguar, VW. I've purchased new BMWs but they are proper BMWs, with 2 wheels.

Most car companies have built great cars and total crap. The "Japanese Manufacturers" have been very consistent in building consistently good cars. Of course, most of the Japanese cars are built entirely in North America like my Honda.

I just need something to get me where I'm going.

I just found out the mini cooper is a bmw.  I think they

are cute as hell.

Best car:  "89 thunderbird/slant 6.  Loved it.  Power

Also had a "69 vw bug.  wish I still had it.

Re: 2012 Mercedes-benz CLS...

BMW owns MINI, which started around 2000. This is a different company than the Mini, which was produced up to that point but disappeared from the US market around 30 years ago.

They are cute and fun to drive. At least the early models have big problems with blowing sparkplugs out of the cylinder head and the only reliable car was the manual transmission version. The CVT model, which is similar to an automatic trans, had lots of issues. I believe both of these issues are resolved in the MkII models, which came out about 3 years ago.

I got the November issue of Road & Track today which features the 2012 CLS (with all new engines!!), and as soon as I looked at the new CLS something in my pants told me that I like this beast. I KNOW for certain that many of you currently own a CLS, so my question is, is this an unreliable car like how MB's usually are? I currently drive an 03 S430 and it exhibits so many technical issues from time to time that I now see myself driving my 02 Buick more often Smiley Indifferent

The 2012 CLS goes on sale in June 2011, and I am comtemplating getting it if CLS's are reliable cars...

O, and do me a favor by not recommending me a Lexus Smiley Happy

I was at the LA Auto show two weeks ago & I had the opportunity to see the new CLS 65 AMG. It looks BAD*SS!!! But, I prefer a CL over the CLS any day Smiley Tongue
