Yeah, measure twice again, reminds me of putting shingles on my buddy's roof. He's from Europe and the shingles were to be spaced one foot apart. Well being used to the metric system he would start each row 10 inches instead of 12, and we'd have to go back and start the row all over again
Hmmm, That's enough to chew on for now.
Enjoy,

Good list!
To add to it, if this is a husband-and-wife/ partner-partner project:
Agree before hand that if something goes wrong, it's because stuff goes wrong, not because so-and-so's an idiot, or won't read directions, or is a hopeless klutz, or should never have dreamed this up in the first place, or is trying to spend you into the grave.
Even if this is true.
Don't ask me how I know this.
Hauling,
Even better addition for the list. Thank you I was focusing on the project and not what's important <grin> So in keeping with that tradition...
Don't forget...
Safety Goggles
Gloves
Mask
Hard Hat (Don't ask)
Heck, go for the Goalie uniform just in case.

All true. And the first time you do a given type of project, you'll make at least four trips to Home Depot for items you didn't realize you needed for such a project!
Oh Yeah, I forgot to mention Duct Tape.

Duct tape even saved the Apollo 13 astronauts! One of my favorite scenes in the movie, which actually did happen was when a bunch of engineers gather around the table in a conference room: "our job is to make this square lithium hydroxide canisters from the CM fit this round openings from LM environmental system, using only the stuff on this table." The improvised solution included duct tape.
