A co-worker told me about the "name your own price tool" on Priceline for hotels. Have you guys ever used it? What are the best deals you've gotten?
I like Priceline. I tend to stay right at 50%. I think once I may have gotten 48% off the regular price. But it was a long time ago!
I tried it and got a decent rate. $67 for a Saturday night near downtown Austin. Not bad for such short notice.

Priceline is good, but make sure you shop around. I've noticed a couple of times where I'd look at a price on priceline or expedia and it ends up being the same or even more expensive than the hotels offer.
Plus, if you're an AAA member you usually get 10% off your hotel rate. You also get to deal with the hotel directly if there are any issues (oversold, room issues, etc) rather than having to deal with Expedia/Priceline who are PITA. When I used to work at a hotel, I spent 3 hours on hold with Expedia one night trying to get a guest's billing issues situated...
