i suggest you tell hubby first that you intend to not assit and that you feel obligated to mention the rqst. then tell your family member about the rqst and that you are just as suspect of this "friend" and totaly understand the rqst made of you, but declined to get involved.

this way you are being honest with everybody about everything.

Thank you all. I think we are all pretty much on the same page.

Sometimes it helps to just check my ethical barometer against the standard. Y'all have been through some rocky patches of life just as I have so I truly trust that you look at things much as I do.
