From my own experience, the answer is no. I had to learn the hard way in being the owner of 70k worth of CC debt. Cost me a relationship, almost my job.
Perhaps it takes getting burned to learn for many people. This doesn't bode well for those in a relationship with someone that exhibits irresponsible CC use and/or poor spending habits...
