Car shopping is a pain, when you are in a hurry

I'm helping someone out, she is on a tight budget. Talking maybe $5,000 tops - in today's used car market also.

Craigslist... the lowest common denominator? Some of the ads I see on there make me cringe. I'm sure there are some decent everyday people just trying to sell their cars, but man sorting through this stuff - I might just go with a dealership. Then when I think maybe I found something, I noticed "temporary registration tags"

I'd be concerned with the temp plates.
