My daughter has lived in South Carolina for about 6 months now and talks about them all the time.

I've heard of a lot of different fried foods, just not pickles.

But then again, I grew up on chocolate gravy and bisquits for breakfast.

Yes, I've heard of them.  I tried one 6 years ago. It's a southern thing.  Southerners love their fried foods.

That's true, I grew up in the Midwest and my wife grew up in the South.  Visiting her friends and relatives, I saw people frying various things that nobody had ever thought to fry in Wisconsin!

Makes me think of my Mom.  She had a cast-iron skillet

and could fry anything.  I used to call her the Fry Queen.

Slowly, but surely killing themselves one fried item at a time. And they wash it down with high sugary beverages.

DI, it wasn't bad at all.  I probably won't eat one again.  I like fried catfish too.

Re: Fried Pickles?

If you have a Buffalo Wild Wings or Carolina Ale House in your city you can get fried pickles. I've had Carolina Ale House's version and they are deelish! The horseradish ranch dipping sauce is a must.
