I am 54 and got my first card when, I think, I was 23.  It was a department store card.  I had some clothes on lay away and someone asked why didn't I just apply for a credit card.  I did, got it, and that was the beginning.

I was 18 when I got my first CC. It was from USAA. I qualified for it while getting a used auto loan through USAA.

I'm 41 and got my first card when I was 18 and it was a mastercard from the credit union I had belonged to since I was a toddler.  I was so proud of that card.

I'm 34 and got my first CC from Wells Fargo at 19. Then made the mistake of turning it into a join account and eventually closing it when things went south Smiley Sad

Re: How old are you, and...

I'm 20 years old, and my first card was the American Blue Cash Preferred about 3 1/2 weeks old now. Followed by CapOne Quicksilver, then my Discover IT card.

- Entirely thanks to my grandmother allowing me to be an authorized user on her two cards for a few years now. (I repaid the the favor by adding her to my three CC accounts now, too.)

Re: How old are you, and...

I'm older than dirt and about the same age as Barry LOL!   I also got my first card at 23.  In those days you didn't need to apply for credit cards.  The cards were just mailed out to you.  The first card was from Dillards then along came Bankamericard.
