Im 26, I didnt start reading up on credit scores/credit reports until about 2 years ago.
I'm 23, and want to keep building up what I have. I'd like to look into buying a home withing the next year or two, and advance my career further into sales management/finance. I'm surprised by how many younger, but credt educated posters we have here!
I am 36 years young!!! With kids who are 11, 18, and 20 years old..now I feel old again...lol. I told my older kids who started college that if they make me a 36 year old grandma, I am taking them out!!!
I wish I found a forum like this when I when I started my credit journey at 18...back then they were throwing credit lines out like tic tacs and I was very irresponsible (understatement). Good for you guys for taking your credit serious at a young age. I wish I would have!!
34, engaged, no kids & debt free
I forgot to give my credit journey which started with SL's (ack!) At the guidance of my dad, he told me to set the loans up to pay interest while I was in school and he would take care of the interest payments. A year into school, I started seeing letters in the trash when I would go home addressed to me that my interest payments were late/60 days past due etc... From there on out, I got a 2nd PT job to pay the interest (on top of the first PT job to pay my living expenses) and took over my finances completely which the best move I ever did. Luckily, the companies I had the loans under, never reported the loans as late. I did have one "late" that was never actually late because that was after I took over my finances and was able to get it removed. Seeing irresponsibility around me, gave me the drive to do things the right way. Never trust someone else with your credit I guess is the lesson I learned.
I actually did not get my first CC until 2 years ago which was my Zync. Before that, I used my ((everyone cover their eyes)) DEBIT card! After having my Zync for almost two years, within the last 2 months I acquired the rest of my cards in my sig.
Hey guys!
I am a 21 y/o soon to be father of 2 (daughter due in Novemeber). I have been financially dependant since 19 when I had my first son with my wife and until last year simply used cash for everything. I have worked full time while going to school full time for a while now, and looking to complete my undergrad and go into my masters should I get accepted into a good enough school (hoping to get into UPENN PhD program that extends from masters). I see now how valuable credit is, as now trying to get a home loan with little credit history is killing me! I have made huge strides though and I am looking to purchase a house come December-January.
My goals include completing my undergrad, getting a home for the family, new car for myself (not brand new as I would only buy a mildly used car) and maybe getting a couple cards for stores that I frequent!

Are you still going to school? And what line of work do you do to be making 41k as a 20 years old. I'm impressed since I'm almost 20 and no way close to your credit score or income lol. Well I hope as soon as I graduate to find a job and get my own house. That's the plan! Also to be near the mid-high 700s
Ill be going to school for the rest of my career im sure! Im an IT technician, and this field is always changing with new certifications coming out all the time. Ive always been good with computers since i was little. Im very lucky to have the job i have, and actually interned at my job for a whole year after school and on weekends for free before they gave me my paid position the day after i graduated high school!.
Im real surprised to see how many younger people we have in here! I try to talk to all my friends about credit but they arent too interested in it right now. Im lucky to have found this forum!

I'm 32, no CC (currently in bk, hence the wish for earlier credit education). My plan is to buy a home as soon as I can...2 or 3 years down the line.
You're in the right place for your rebuilding journey. In the last two years on here with the knowledge and help of the members, I have made tremendous progress.
Knowledge is Power
Knowledge IS power.
I have the same sentiments as you 4us. 33, bk almost five years ago. Wish I had known half the things I know now back then. However I think I've done pretty well with my rebuilding and I'm proud of what I have been able to acheive through self discipline, determination and a lot of grace
Oh nice I'm pretty good with computers too, but I never thought of becoming an IT tech. At least I now know the pay would've been good lol. I used to work for a small computer/laptop repair shop, but the boss was horrible and so was the pay (commission based only!). What do you plan on majoring in? I'm stuck with a minimum wage job for the past year already.. I need to upgrade not that I'm worried since I'm mainly focusing on school at the moment.
