Bill targets errors on credit reports
Consumers frustrated by the often herculean effort it takes to get errors off their credit reports may get some help from Congress.
Ohio's Sen,. Sherrod Brown is introducting legislation that would require credit bureaus to do a better job of investigating and removing wrong information from consumers' reports.
In 2013, the FTC reported that one in four consumers had a credit report that contained an error. Five percent have reports with errors serious enough to affect their ability to obtain credit.
