Ipad vs Android

im in the market for a tablet will be a few months before anything. but what is the better tablet ipad or andriod. both have really good going for it and both have bad. thoughts?

I have an iPad and my girlfriend has a Kindle Fire.  I must say the Kindle Fire is pretty cool and a great device, but you can't really compare it to the iPad at all the iPad is way more superior than the Kindle Fire!!  I would say that if you started with a Kindle Fire before you had ever used an iPad you might think it was pretty awesome but you just can't go the other way it's no competition!!!
