Irish Shoppers Head North for Teeth, Liquor as Sterling Slumps

Don't shoot the messenger. That's what the headline says. Smiley Happy

Do you remember last year when European shoppers invaded the US

buying everything in sight in our stores cuz the dollar was so weak?

Well, this time a similar phenomenon is occurring in Northern Ireland

as folks from the Republic of Ireland head north for bargains to take

advantage of the drop in the Pound Sterling (they use Euros in the ROI) .

DD#2 spent eight weeks in Dublin this summer, and it was astonishingly expensive. She put on 10 pounds from having to buy and eat crappy food, as the good stuff (whole grains, fresh fruit and veggies) was unaffordable on her budget. She said that Paris was cheaper than Dublin.

The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid
