I hate the cold, but if it keeps the 4 million expected people away from the DC area this week, I'm down! Especially since I have to pick up my inauguration ticket on Monday in DC and then go back for the inauguration on Tuesday. Yikes! I'm skeeered!

School was cancelled in our district today.  As of about 4:30pm it is now -12 out! (Feels like -29 with wind chill).  It is supposed to be in the 20s this weekend!  Heat wave!!

At noon today we rec'd word that we'd be on a 2 hr delay for tomorrow, but to watch for updates (read:  we may cancel).  Some of my students don't own gloves or hats and some didn't wear coats today.  Silly.

I had a feeling it was that warm today. I was walking outside at ~ 6pm, and it felt like a spring evening. This has me feeling concerned that this is signaling that we're going to have an even hotter than usual summer.

7 degrees here. We lost power at 6:31 as everyone's alarm clock went off and they ran to the thermostats.

Got it back an hour or so later, but we're still running trickles from the faucets on outside walls. Burst pipes are no fun at all.

it is a lie: it is cold as *bleep* out there. I am glad my daughter's school is only 2 long blocks away. YES I DROVE HER TO SCHOOL. We would have froze by the time we got to the 3rd house
