Losing an hour of sleep

I'm gonna lose an hour of sleep this weekend when Daylight Saving Time begins, since I find it difficult to fall asleep earlier than usual.  When I was a Purdue undergraduate, most of Indiana followed Eastern Standard Time all year, which I preferred. Purdue's Mime ensemble even called their show "Eight O'Clock Eastern Standard Mime." Now most of the State does observe EDT in summer. Of course, being Indiana they still have some counties that follow nearby States, so the age-old question "what time is it in Indiana" remains challenging!

Re: Losing an hour of sleep

I hate it.  I get up in the dark already, now I will be walking the dogs in the dark...in the morning!  While I like the evening part, I think we should hold off until the end of April.  Its really difficult for me to adapt, I am by nature a night owl, so trying to get to be early enough to wake up in the rotten early morning throws me way off.  I remember reading somewhere that the first few days are some of the most dangerous days on the roads.

Re: Losing an hour of sleep

We don't change clocks here until the end of the month.

This means it will only be a 5 hour difference when I call the family.

Re: Losing an hour of sleep

GS, I get up about the same time..But not awake till about 6 !  Seriously though, it's just now having a glimmer of light in the morning when I get up and feed the girls (the pugs...which is why I get up so early, their stomachs are having them wake me up).

One good thing...I am not going to tell the dogs that we went to daylight savings...they can stay on regular time!

Also, pretty hard to offend me !!!

Re: Losing an hour of sleep

I used to live just south of the equator.  12 hours sun a day, every day, all year.

And we did not have to change the time ever!!

The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

DW and I have 3 kids--9 years, almost 5 years and 9 months.

We're happy just to get an hour of sleep a night.

Smiley Very Happy

Oh, wait, some nights that's true.
