Murdering the English language

I came across an ad for a company that offers "credit decisioning services" to lenders.  I asked my wife her opinion of using "decisioning" as a noun, and she replied, "they need grammaring services."

Just the other day I read about a car rental company that charged the customer's credit card three times more than it originally said it would, because the customer returned the car one day late. The final total on the card was $240. What was the original estimate that was given to the customer?

Re: Murdering the English language

That's really no worse than the "texting" generation who post and seem to not know that a capital letter at the beginning of every sentence and complete words are actually allowed.  Smiley Happy

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802
EQ - 7/06-663, 3/10-800
TU - 8/10-772
You can do the same thing with hard work

well, i DO know that sentences start with capital letters.....but i have pretty much always written in lower case, once i was given the option.  occasionally here on the forums i will actually use "correct" punctuation & whatnot, but for the most part, i am actually a grammar nazi Smiley Wink

Re: Murdering the English language

I think that the two who could "murder the English language" the worst were, Popeye,  and Mugs, ( the guy in the Dead-End kids movies of the 40's ).  You had to be good to keep up with Mugs.

When I typed "moida" into Google the top hits said

Moida - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Moida is a village panchayat in Nellimarla mandal of Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh, India. Penumatsa Sambasiva Raju, the Zamindar of Modia is the ...

Nine cities where moida is unhoida Jun 14, 2008

... New York's safe, but not this safe: There are nine big cities in the United States where not a single murder occurred last year...

I do tend to take things literally :-)
