My #1 goal in 2014 is to utilize MOSTLY products that pay 3%+ cashback. For instance, on CCs like Discover I suspect Jan-Mar will busy months with 6% cashback on dining and entertainment. For products that don't pay 3%+ I will revert to my Amex PRG charge card. It seems overall the PRG rewards average at 3% or more.
My #2 goal will be to ALWAYS ask reps and agents if I qualify for CLI without a HP.
My third goal is to avoid apping for new accounts in 2014 --- UNLESS THE SIGN ON BONUS EXCEEDS $200.
At the end of 2014 I will be cancelling any product that is less than 50% of the highest CL.
What are your plans?
( Keep in mind that my cashback earnings for 2013 is $785 from my 1.5% PayPal cashback debit card. )
My Goal is to get a Amex Delta Gold.
I was going to upgrade to a Amex Platinum but since there Reward Program has gone to **bleep**, Im sticking with my Amex Premier Gold, You get 3x Points and its only $175 a year compared to Amex Plainum which is $495 a year and only 1X Points.
My goals:
1. Continue to close cards that do not add value to my portfolio.
2. Increase my investments!
3. Try to get the house paid off. Most likely, this will not happen but it is worth a try for sure!
obtain my first CC, and probably start college
There are some places that won't accept AMEX but for some odd reason AMEX seems to get better service. Cashiers pay more attention to AMEX holders and rewards seem to be more generous with the PRG.
1. To pay off 3 more credit cards this year. Total of 7.
2. To pay off credit one and close it.
3. To try to get a fico score of 680. Im at 651 on equifax.
These should keep me busy:
1) Work OT and save as much as possible to increase down payment
2) Learn to make and keep a budget -I'm a spender-
3) Scores above 700, If i can reach 750+, even better
4) Buy a home
5) Consolidate SL's---only if it is Income contigent and payments will be less than my current payments with an acceptable interest rate
6) Apply and get approved for a Discover IT card
7) Furnish my new home beautifully
8) Enter the garden
9) Start saving again
